I loved Newton with all my heart, in the process I had forgotten that we were different I couldn’t take back what I felt for him, neither could I stop him from loving me…. Everything seemed okay until the night he suddenly asked me if I could get married to him, reality hit me and I rejected his proposal, the amazing part was that he didn’t flinch but remained persistent, ” flora, I am not leaving until you give me one good reason for rejecting my proposal, I have ruled out the facts that you might be in love someone else because we both know you can’t take your eyes off my face, you love me so much that if I asked you to fly like an eagle you would probably grow wings” he laughed aloud and I turned red. He was right , had I not been a ghost I wouldn’t have thought twice. I looked at him, my heart skipped a beat , damn why did I have to go through this? It hurt but I would rather die myself than put newton in trouble…I decided to confront this plea once and for all. ” Newton, there is something you need to know” I whispered, he came closer ” wanna make love Flora? He asked softly and I turned my face away , the last thing I needed was distraction , I controlled my feelings and turned to look at him straight in the eyes….” Newton I am a ghost” I blurted, there was sudden silence in the air, I was expecting him to run away, freak, or faint but he came closer and kissed my forehead…” Tell me something I don’t know my love” he whispered and smiled. Now I was in shock… I stared at him with my eyes opened wider than the shutters of the barber shop.
” I am serious Newton, am not human, I am a ghost’ I tried to explain myself but the only reaction I got was a silly grin, I tried again but this time he put his hand on my lips…” Shhhh Flora, relax , I know about your identity” he smiled..
” He knew you were a ghost and yet he didn’t flinch?” Sameers voice broke the spell , Nora pulled his hair hard
” aaawch Nora , what you doing lady!!” Sameer shouted… Flora sighed, ” Sameer if u keep interfering , we will not reach anywhere, and even if we do it will take forever” she said. Everytime Sameer interfered , Flora felt drained .. ” next time we will tape ur stupid mouth ” Nora said. ” I am sorry , can you tell us what happened after that?” Sameer asked…too late Flora was already asleep…
They still had 8 hours before the next sunrise to the 5th day,all they had to do was wait for flora to be swept back into the web of her past again… Sameer looked at Nora, she rolled her eyes ” learn to shut up okay?” She said and floated away irritated, Sameer decided now he will not interfere…but would that be possible?
